Ideation

S subsitude
C combine
A adapt
M modify
P put to other use
E eleminate
R rearrange/reversal

1. Shape borrowing can make a design more interesting or nicer, and even can make a new invention, like the wrights brother plane were made in a shape of bird to make it fly.
2. You need to modify your product to make it better, this is where the SCAMPER can be use. You can eliminate useless parts of the product to make look/perform better or cost less. Substitute components and materials is another way to make it peform better. Alter, change function, use part of another element to save cost or make it more better. Reverse – turn inside out or upside down is not a very good way in my opion but can still be used.

These two design are good as when I bet anything with a normal whisk, I will have a lot of left over later and it is hard to clean. Many time I have to redo a staple by trying to push it straight down, hard but not to slow or fast and failing again. On the outside, the stapler looks just like the old-fashioned kind, but inside it has a different design. Pushing down on the top compress a spring. Then, the spring releases all the energy at once, and the staple shoots into the paper.(SO MUCH BETTER!)

This two designs are bad designs, the cover for the petrol has no handle to open it (Then what?! Use your nails?!) and the cups in the car can block the radio and if the drink spills, it may wet the radio and you know what the hell will happen later.
